The Lakers are still connected to players who may enhance their prospects in several essential areas as they go through an excruciatingly sluggish summer. The Lakers are among several clubs interested in Nets forward Cam Johnson, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints:

“Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Bojan Bogdanovic are the three forwards teams around the league are labeling as the next names to be on the move. Out of this grouping of players, Johnson is the one generating the most interest. He further added, “Even though he didn’t quite perform as many Nets fans were hoping. I still think that’s a great contract. To be making low 20s while being a starter, those are pretty good contracts.”

The 28-year-old averaged 13.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 0.8 steals per game across 58 games (47 starts) for Brooklyn. In addition, he made 44% of his field goals, 39% of his three-pointers, and over 79% of his free throws. Last July, Johnson agreed to a $94.5 million, four-year contract.

However, because the Nets are now formally in rebuild mode, they may let him go to accumulate future assets.
