Former LSU star Hailey Van Lith hasn’t committed to TCU, at least not for the time being.

Van Lith, who spent the 2023 season with the Tigers playing under Kim Mulkey and alongside Angel Reese, is leaving the program to revert to her natural position after experiencing a lapse in scoring.

Various outlets claimed the 22-year-old was set to join the Horned Frogs after LSU failed to defend its national championship at March Madness. However, she hasn’t actually committed to TCU, although she is “very interested.”

I did take a visit to TCU and am very interested in them, but I took visits to other schools and was very interested in them, too,” Van Lith told Doug Feinberg of the Associated Press. “I haven’t made an official commitment, but I’m very close. The ink has not touched the paper for any school.

Hailey Van Lith’s Scoring Took A Huge Dip At LSU

Hailey Van Lith spent her first three college seasons playing for Louisville. She led the Cardinals to the Final Four in 2022 but could only take them as far as the Elite Eight the following year.

She moved to LSU in 2023 but struggled as a point guard, averaging 11.6 points and 3.6 assists per game, having averaged 19.7 points per contest the previous year. The Tigers were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, going out to Iowa at the Elite Eight stage in what was a rematch of last year’s national championship game.

Van Lith has one year of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it will be interesting to see where she lands ahead of her final college season.

In the meantime, the guard is in training camp with the USA Basketball 3×3 team set to play in Paris this summer.

Sabrina Ionescu had a blunt, six-word message for Caitlin Clark ahead of their matchup this Thursday night.

Clark’s Indiana Fever will host Ionescu’s New York Liberty in their second game of the new season, having lost their opener to the Connecticut Sun in blowout fashion.

The former Iowa Hawkeyes star had a bittersweet debut, scoring 20 points in the 92-71 loss but also committing a historic 10 turnovers. She will hope for a better performance against the Liberty this Thursday but will have her work cut out against Ionescu and Breanna Stewart.

Sabrina Ionescu Is Treating Caitlin Clark’s Home Debut Like She Would Any Other Game

Of course, given that it will be their first showdown, the game has been hyped significantly. However, Ionescu has downplayed the matchup, claiming, “It’s just another game for us” when she spoke to reporters on Tuesday.

“It’s another game for us, to be honest,” she said, per the New York Post. “Like every single arena that we’re going into this year, and every single team that’s coming into ours is gonna be facing record-breaking crowds, and so it’s nothing really new to us.”

Stewart, on the other hand, has admitted the game will be a big one, especially given that it will be a home opener, likely in front of a sellout crowd.

“We have a team that has some new players in this league but have a lot of vets and have a lot of experience,” she offered. “I think that it’s going to be a big game. It’s going to be their home opener and we’ll treat it like that, but we are going to be focused on ourselves.”

Tonight’s game between the Fever and Liberty tips off at 7 PM ET.
