Aaron Rodgers is getting dragged by New York media following the revelation of his unexplained and “unexcused” absence from the Jets minicamp this week.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh disclosed that the veteran quarterback did not report for minicamp, which is mandatory, on Tuesday because of a previous commitment.
Given that he already missed all of last season due to injury, Rodgers isn’t getting much love from fans online, while papers in NY are directing some heavy criticism his way.
The New York Post has accused A-Rod of being “full of hot Aar” while the New York Daily News branded him “Aaron Dodgers.”
Aaron Rodgers Accused Of Feeding Jets His Baggage Without The Brilliance
The Post’s Brian Costello has written an article claiming the Jets have gotten the full Aaron Rodgers experience except for what really matters.

Costello points out that Rodgers has yet to throw a touchdown or influence a win, with the Jets getting all his baggage and none of his brilliance.
“Look, Rodgers missing two practices in June is not going to have any effect on how many games the 2024 Jets win. But it is the optics of the situation,” Costello notes. “There are 31 other teams with their starting quarterbacks at minicamp. Rodgers has embraced being all-in with the Jets since the trade and this is the first sign that something else is more important.
“It is also just another part of the “Aaron Rodgers Experience” in which he creates more headlines than a tabloid editor.”
I know some folks think that any Aaron Rodgers criticism is about a vaccine decision from 4 years (that basically only Aaron still talks about), when in reality it’s about him being one of the phoniest, most disingenuous athletes of our lifetimes. pic.twitter.com/ry2IvfVGJe

It’s easy to speculate when you have no idea what’s going on with someone. But, to be fair, Rodgers hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory with the media.
This sort of thing should be expected.

Aaron Rodgers is back to doing what he does best, and that is causing controversy with his words.
In a viral interview with Tucker Carlson, quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets discussed his opinions on COVID-19, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and other topics.
In their Tuesday conversation, Rodgers and Tucker Carlson covered a wide range of political topics, such as conspiracy theories, the COVID-19 vaccine, and Robert F. Kennedy’s proposal to pair the New York Jets quarterback with John F. Kennedy as his running partner for the vice presidency. He also discussed themes relating to pornography.
Aaron Rodgers made it abundantly clear that he does not indulge in pornographic material because he isn’t into “weird kinky stuff.”
At the start of the interview, the 2011 Super Bowl champion praised Vladimir Putin, describing Russia’s president as ‘thoughtful and smart’ while wishing that U.S. President Joe Biden was more like him.

The quarterback suggested Biden should behave more like Putin, telling Tucker Carlson: “I’d love to see Joe Biden give an interview where he can speak on the history of the United States in the same way that Putin talked about the history of his country.”
The four-time NFL MVP also called Joe Biden’s intelligence into doubt, along with Carlson’s, when they speculated that the political establishment’s extreme leftist views might be deliberately pushing the country’s populace.
‘You wonder if they’re sort of seeing how far they can push the population until someone starts laughing, like, are you joking?’ Carlson joked.
‘It feels like that sometimes,’ Rodgers agreed. ‘Like ‘What if we did this? Is anybody going to give a s**t? No? Now, let’s try this one here. We’re going put Joe Biden up.’ Wait what? This guy who can’t even walk over here? Who s***s his pants every now and then?’ he further joked via NBC News.
Aaron Rodgers Once Challenged Travis Kelce To COVID Vaccine Debate

Last year, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers challenged Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to debate the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.
The pro football standouts were in the midst of trading barbs since Rodgers mocked Kelce for partnering with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer in a campaign to encourage people to get their flu shots and COVID vaccinations.
Rodgers mocked Kelce, calling him “Mr. Pfizer.”
“Who knew I’d get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man?” Kelce joked with reporters. “Mr. Pfizer versus the Johnson & Johnson family over there.”
