“Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures,” the quote fits perfectly for the LA Lakers. The franchise is reportedly showing interest in trading for Kyle Kuzma, whom they let go in 2021. Despite raising the hopes of their fans by expressing interest in elite names, they have failed to secure any star player as of now. So, in this time, they desire to return to the Wizards’ No. 33.

According to Lakers Insider Anthony Irwin, “…the Lakers have held trade talks with the Portland Trail Blazers about Jerami Grant… and the Washington Wizards about Kyle Kuzma.” As soon as the report got circulated on X (FKA Twitter), the NBA community gathered to show their disappointment with the Lakers but in an amusing way.

A fan wrote, “Every time I open this app the @Lakers provide more and more comedy.”

Emphasizing the disapproval for adding Kuzma another fan stated, “Don’t piss me off (series of laughing emojis) and what’s crazy is he probably would fit but nahhhhhh”.

“This why Klay didn’t want to go there they be on BS”, predicted someone.

Another fan sarcastically wrote, “I want the Lakers level PR..I want to be interested in different jobs and destinations and yet stay at home and do nothing.”

“I hate the phrase showing interest now lol”, added one fan.

While another furious supporter wrote that they should acquire Kuzma but “Don’t tell us who yall interested in cause if yall don’t get em we look a**”

Looking at his previous record with the Lakers, it is safe to say that the 28-year-old had a decent run with the LA side before things turned bitter.

How Was Kyle Kuzma’s Previous Lakers Stint

Kyle Kuzma entered the NBA in 2017 as the 27th overall pick with the Nets but was soon acquired by the LA side. The combo forward started his journey hoping to flourish as one of the stars in the Lakers.

As a rookie, Kuzma impressed with his averages of 16.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. His offensive numbers increased the following season, making him a key player on the squad.

However, there was a dip in his third season, but luckily, he got to add the championship title to his name, playing alongside LeBron James. After another season of waiting, when Kuzma failed to contribute massively in games, he was included in a trade to acquire Westbrook.

Kuzma put up numbers for his new team, the Wizards, but he couldn’t lead the team to the top tier. The Lakers’ re-signing has not been so splendid lately. However, the forward might be able to contribute much more this time than his previous stint.
