Team USA had a strong start in their preparations for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, defeating Team Canada with a score of 86-72 in the exhibition game. Canada came into the game with great passion, particularly with Dillon Brooks’ physical performance. During the game against Team USA, Brooks seemed to have attempted to harm both Stephen Curry and LeBron James.

King James was going to the hoop when Brooks protruded out his leg, sending the four-time NBA MVP to the ground. Fans noticed a similar attempt against Curry, although Brooks was unsuccessful in tripping him. Brooks is known for giving opponents hard fouls, so this behavior wasn’t surprising. If Brooks had injured James or Curry before the Olympics, Team USA fans would have likely viewed him in a negative light.

Team USA Fans Slam Dillon Brooks For His Attempt

NBA fans became upset upon noticing Brooks’ attempt and expressed their opinions on social media. One fan criticized Brooks for his attempt, stating, “That’s all he’s good for Just yapping and fouling.”

Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “Trying to hurt players. Not a basketball play.”

Another fan reacted, “This dude shouldn’t be allowed on a court. Curry or Bron could have easily broken or sprained an ankle; and he tries to hurt LeBron every time they play eachother. It’s getting ridiculous.”

Another fan commented, “He’s attempting to beat LeBron’s foot to the spot so he can potentially twist LeBron’s ankle and injure him ahead of the Olympics. It’s such an unnatural, melodic step (look at how he stretches his leg and slows down his gait) that it’s clear he was attempting to time the step.”

Before the exhibition game, Brook experienced an unusual event. During the introduction, fans began booing Brooks, displaying their hatred for the 28-year-old forward.
