Chicago Sky rookies Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso went viral after throwing the first pitches at the Chicago Cubs game on Monday night.

Reese, a former star at LSU, has been living her best life since winning a national championship last year. Cardoso, on the other hand, must still be on cloud nine after leading South Carolina to a championship earlier in 2024.

The ex-Lady Tigers forward experienced her first taste of victory in the pros, having helped the Sky beat the Dallas Wings on Saturday. They won’t be in action again until this Thursday.

She attended the Cubs game against the Atlanta Braves with her teammate this Monday, and they had the honor of throwing pitches alongside each other.

The rooks posed with pitcher Shota Imanaga before trying their hands.

Cardoso went first, throwing her pitch just outside. Reese stepped up right after with an impressive toss.

You can see another angle here, which shows how difficult it is to make a pitch due to the sheer distance.

It’s definitely not as easy as it looks.

Angel Reese Has The Edge Over Caitlin Clark So Far

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky lost their opener to the Dallas Wings last week but beat them in their second game to go 1-1.

Her rival, Caitlin Clark, has yet to win since getting drafted, having lost her first three games.

Cardosa, meanwhile, hasn’t made her debut as she’s out with a shoulder injury. She should play her first game on June 1.

Jemele Hill has taken to social media this Wednesday in an attempt to clear up what she said about Caitlin Clark in a recent interview.

Hill spoke to Uproxx last week and discussed Clark’s rise as a female basketball star, noting women’s basketball has been trending upward for a while now and the uptick did not start with the Iowa Hawkeyes star.

She compared Clark and other white stars to A’ja Wilson, who she said hardly gets as much coverage as white players.

Hill suggested that her claim was based on a study she used to write a recent column for The Atlantic.

She’s probably the best player in the world right now,” she said of Wilson in her Uproxx interview. “And I’m not trying to act like she gets no coverage, but the coverage that sometimes non-white women get, or specifically Black women get, is not even close. It’s two-to-one.
