Tom BRady at the Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony

Pretty much any legendary athlete who made history deserves a statue in their honor but collective sports legends do get a special kind of treatment once they retire. Just last Wednesday,

Tom Brady was honored at Gillette Stadium for the New England Patriots Hall of Fame induction event. It was right there where Brady felt how much the Patriots fan base loves him.

But on Thursday, we have an even better surprise to talk about after the ceremony ended. As it turns out, the team has plans to make a giant bronze statue of Tom Brady right outside Gillette Stadium. Owner Robert Kraft was the one who made the announcement on Wednesday. A statue tht will be 12-feet tall and it will be sculpted in Tom Brady’s honor.

Tom Brady, the GOAT

Some years will pass until we all realize the leve of athlete Tom Brady was when he was still active.

Right now, it’s still a little too soon since he retired and making a proper assessment is not going to make a huge difference. In order to understand the impact Tom Brady had in the NFL, we would have to compare his story to the likes of other legends like Michael Jordan or Lionel Messi.

These people are the only ones who could begin to understand what Tom Brady will go through when his statue is unveiled. This will turn Tom into the first Patriot to get this distinction. A fitting honor for the man who made them win 6 Super Bowl Rings.

But wait, there’s more! During the breaking of the news by Robert Kraft, the Patriots’ owner also revealed that Tom Brady’s No. 12 jersey will be retired. This would turn him into the first Patriot to get this honor since Bruce Armstrong had his jersey retired in 2001.

At the event, Tom Brady was received like a king inside of a packed Gillette Stadium and an event that took place exactly during the NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks.

Keep in mind that likely most Patriots are Celtics fans and they still decided to honor Brady on Wednesday. Plus, the Mavs are pretty much eliminated from the finals at this point. Details on the statue’s unveiling date will be revealed at a later date.
