The tension is rising in the Love Island villa, as this year’s batch of singletons gets to work, but fans have become more and more distracted by one glaring issues they want fixed

Love Island fans have demanded that ITV producers change a key element of the show as the new series kicks off.

The new series of the ITV2 dating show began back on Monday (June 3), and already the tensions in the villa are rising. In just five days, viewers have watched as romance, lust and heartbreak have played out in the walls of the Spanish pad the Islanders are calling home.

But already, there is one issue that has caught fans’ attention and as the show has gone on, it seems more viewers have become more frustrated. As a result, many are taking to social media to tell ITV bosses how they really feel.

On the show’s official Reddit community, one user posted: “Anyone else hate the new villa?” They explained their reasoning behind the question, saying that there was now a mismatch between the interior and exterior of the flashy pad.

“It’s really cool don’t get me wrong, but it’s too colourful,” the account said. “The get ready room I specifically hate cause why orange?

“Also it’s not giving ‘beachy in paradise’, it’s giving ‘Barbie: Life in the Dream House’,” the poster added. “I need more browns, whites, blues, gold, and the colour coming from the neon signs of quotes.”

The post garnered significant support from fellow viewers, who also complained about the sickly look of the newly-refurbished villa. Many others were also unhappy with the lack of indoor areas for the group to chill in, as many were concerned for their well-being.

“I demand more shaded areas for them to sit in!!!!” fumed one responder. “Why can’t they have wee umbrellas by the pool loungers? Make sun safety cute.”

A second user agreed, saying: “At first I thought it was cool the green bathroom is lush but the fire pit area is horrendous.” A third viewer said that they usually struggled to make out differences in the villa aesthetics, but “this season HAS made an impact on me because the orange makeup room is a crime”.

However, one use did admit they were rather chuffed with the new look for the Mallorca pad. The account said: “I like how small it is and how people can hear each other (for drama purposes) but the colours are too much; especially the girls’ dressing room.”
