Despite winning the two previous Super Bowls, there’s still a strong chance that the Kansas City Chiefs will somehow be even better in 2024. They brought back Chris Jones to lead one of the league’s best defenses and made several additions on the offensive side of the ball.

No other position got more love in the offseason than wide receiver, as the front office brought in Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy to give the passing attack more dynamism. They also bring back a majority of the elite offensive line from a year ago. With those changes, Patrick Mahomes should get back to his pre-2023 production.

Isaiah Pacheco could be in line for huge 2024 season

But one of his weapons, backfield partner Isiah Pacheco, could be the one who benefits the most from the Chiefs’ offseason moves.

The team really didn’t add anything at the running back position except for Louis Rees-Zammit, a rugby-turned-football player who is extremely unproven. Veteran Jerick McKinnon could still be brought back, which would take away passing down snaps, but Pacheco saw his snap rate and route participation numbers increase in the playoffs while McKinnon was active.

That could be a sign that the team wants Pacheco to take on a bigger workload than he’s gotten through his first two seasons. Pacheco got 249 touches in 14 regular season games last year. He was on pace to eclipse 300, which should be easily accomplished in 2024. With talented weapons around him, he could be set up for a lot of explosive plays.
