Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell has opened up on the mass shooting incident in Florida that left him nursing injuries and had him rushed to the hospital.

Dell, who is heading into his second season in the NFL, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound while at a nightclub in Florida on April 27.

Video footage showed the wild scene, and those involved can consider themselves extremely lucky as things could have been a lot worse.

Dell and his Texans teammate, quarterback C.J. Stroud, were guests on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast this weekend when the receiver discussed the incident.

“To me it was just wrong place, wrong time,” he explained. “I went back to see my mom. I wasn’t even planning to go back and go to the little pool party or whatever.

“But my boys saw that I was home so they hit me up. They told me there was going to be security, people getting checked at the door, stuff like that.”

Tank Dell Was Among Multiple Injured Patrons

Tank Dell was one of 10 people who were injured on the night. A 16-year-old boy named Christopher Bouie was identified as the shooter by the Seminole County Sheriff’s office.

Arrest documents note that a fight started outside the club before Bouie, who was not involved, “turned around and pulled out a black and silver handgun (9mm) and began shooting towards a crowd of people.”

Footage caught by the club’s security cameras and other videos showed Dell running for cover. Fortunately, none of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries.

“It just went south out of nowhere,” the Texans wideout continued.

“And I thought I had removed myself from the situation.

“When you see on the video I ran across, I thought I’d removed myself from the situation, the altercation where they were fighting, but I put myself in the middle of two people.”

Edens is a model and social media influencer. She is also the daughter of the Milwaukee Bucks majority owner Wes Edens, who co-owns Premier League team Aston Villa.
