JEOPARDY! fans have called out the show for airing an old episode in several states on Friday night.

Frustrated viewers had to watch a rerun from April instead of witnessing Adriana Harmeyer’s eighth win.

Jeopardy! fans in Detroit and Canada claimed they were shown an old episode featuring Marko Saric from April 19.

“Wrong episode aired tonight? In the Detroit market, the April 19, 2024 is airing. Is this happening anywhere else?” one raged on Reddit.

“WDIV makes these kinds of mistakes all the time! And one of the contestants is from Rochester, I’d be so bummed if I were him or his loved ones,” another added.

“I wondered if I was losing my mind. Thank you for posting this. Channel 4 sucks,” a third posted.

“Totally agree! I was straining my brain because I swore I watched Adriana win last night!” someone else commented.

“So weird,” another viewer noted, adding, “It sucks that this happened.”

Fan favorite Adriana won her eighth episode on Friday with $183,100, beating Amogha Tadimety and Kevin Stuhlmann for a near-game show record.

The archivist is on the longest and highest-earning streak in over a year.

During the episode, she revealed she wears her late grandmother’s necklace for every match.

Host Ken Jennings, 49, said he’d spotted that the piece of jewelry keeps popping up.

Jeopardy!’s Adriana Harmeyer praised for ‘sneaky’ tactic for winning as fans reveal moment that got them ‘yelling at TV’
“It’s a cameo necklace that was given to me by my grandmother. She loved and collected cameos in all forms and was also a big game show fan!” Adriaan said.

She added that she watched Jeopardy! often with her loved one and said “It’s very possible” that she wouldn’t have appeared on the gameshow without her.

Last week, fans praised Adriana’s “sneaky” tactic for winning her games.

Viewers noted that the contestant relies on her knowledge and buzzer speed and tends not to go “aggressive” with the Daily Doubles.

Jeopardy! Host Timeline

Jeopardy! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts after the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are all of the hosts since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted Jeopardy!’s modern iteration for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested out a series of guest hosts for week or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton, and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for one week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the longest-winning contestant ever) joined Mayim as a guest host and they split hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a lengthy hiatus, having stood with the writer’s strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now helms all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the nightly show, and other primetime specials like Masters.

“She’s not DD-hunting that much and not very aggressive with her wagering but by the end of DJ, she has a runaway game!” one fan wrote online.

Others praised her for methodically playing the board from the top down, as opposed to randomly picking across the board like Masters! champ James Holzhauer.

While the contestant rarely makes a misstep, she almost lost $11,000 with a wrong answer during the Final Jeopardy earlier this month.

The players were prompted, “An island near Cebu City has a statue of LapuLapu and a monument to this man that LapuLapu is said to have killed in 1521.”

Adriana initially wrote Captain Cook, before crossing it out and jotting down Magellen.

Viewers praised the “satisfying” last-minute move that led to the West Lafayette, Indiana, winning the round.
