With just one year remaining on his contract, Tampa Bay Buccaneers superstar wide receiver Chris Godwin could be one of the top trade candidates ahead of the 2024 NFL trade deadline. The Buccaneers are coming off a surprise 9-win and NFC South
division-winning season. Chris Godwin is one of several key players nearing the end of his contract in Tampa Bay, so GM Jason Licht has to think long-term here.Franchise icon Mike Evans (31 in August) just signed a two-year extension. Godwin is in the last
season of a three-year deal he signed in 2022, but he’ll be 29 when he’s up for a new contract next year.So Tampa Bay should consider trading Godwin to the highest bidder, rather than risk losing him for nothing in free agency. After all, trading Godwin would clear the Buccaneers $20 million in cap space, per OvertheCap.com.
Just about any team with the necessary cap space should have interest in the Super Bowl 55 champion, but the Green Bay Packers specifically stand out as a logical landing spot for Chris Godwin.

Like Tampa Bay, Jordan Love’s Packers exceeded expectations by finishing 9-8 to lock down a playoff berth. Green Bay upset the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round before losing a heartbreaker to the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
What The Packers Should Offer For Chris Godwin
Green Bay reached the elite eight last season even though rookie Jayden Reed led the team with just 64 receptions for 793 yards and eight touchdowns. If the Packers could find a true No. 1 WR fo Love, they would immediately close the gap with the top NFC contenders.
The Packers should offer the Bucs a 2025 third-round draft pick and a 2026 fifth-rounder for Godwin. But if he’s willing to sign an extension beforehand, the Packers could upgrade the 2025 selection to a second-rounder.
With Godwin slotting in as the new No. 1 receiver in Green Bay, the sky would be the limit for the Love-led offense.

NFL fans are losing their minds after a video of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson hanging out close to an AFC team’s practice facility quickly went viral.Justin Jefferson has been the subject of trade rumors since the start of the offseason. The 24-year-old hasn’t at all indicated that he wants to be dealt, but it’s certainly noteworthy that Minnesota has yet to extend JJ as he heads into the last year of his rookie deal.
Fueling trade rumors is the fact that Jefferson was absent from day one of the Vikings’ organized team activities, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. On top of that, it was reported that Jefferson was spotted in Florham Park, New Jersey, where the New York Jets’ practice facility is located.
The ML Football X/Twitter account posted exclusive footage of Jefferson leaving a hotel in Florham Park on Friday:
As you would have expected, social media had plenty of interesting things to say about this video footage of JJ in Florham Park:

It’s widely expected that Justin Jefferson to receive the richest contract ever for a wide receiver. Davante Adams set that mark in 2022 when he signed a five-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders worth $140 million after coming over via trade.
The only question, of course, is where that record-setting extension will come from.
Minnesota Vikings Need To Pay Justin Jefferson
The Vikings could simply decide to trade Jefferson in return for a king’s ransom that would definitely include multiple first-round picks. But players of his caliber rarely come around, and it’s hard to envision Minnesota being a better team without him.
With two other promising young offensive pieces in wide receiver Jordan Addison and rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy, the Vikings’ best bet is to pay Jefferson and attempt to build a Super Bowl contender around him. McCarthy would be a in a great spot to succeed long-term with Jefferson, Addison and tight end TJ Hockenson as his main playmakers, after all.
