McAfee called Caitlin Clark a “white b**ch” before apologising quickly after.

Pat McAfee has found himself in a lot of trouble after disgracefully insulting Caitlin Clark, leaving many to question just how long the ESPN pundit has left in his current role, including some other high-profile commentators.
Bill Simmons, who founded The Ringer and worked for ESPN and HBO, made a nod to McAfee’s comments by suggesting whether the Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic would be more or less likely to become MVP if he was called a “white b**ch” too.
Later in the show, he then wondered if he could get over/under odds on McAfee still being with ESPN, one of the largest sports broadcasters in the United States and the world, from February 2025.
The jokes at his expense come after a feud appeared to emerge between McAfee and Simmons when the former told the latter to, “keep running your mouth” after Simmons mocked him on a podcast.
Simmons then slammed him for ESPN’s poor TV ratings on the network, of which he’s contracted on an $85,000,000 deal over five years.
McAfee apologizes to Clark
The ESPN star found himself thrust into controversy when he was discussing the WNBA on his show, rubbishing the hype about the 2024 “rookie class”, which he believed was being heavily carried by Caitlin Clark.
Comparing her against Angel Reese and Cameron Brink, he played a “Guess Which WNBA Rookie” to compare their TV ratings and attendances, of which Clark continues to emerge as the leader.
He then, ironically attempting to compliment her stardom impact, said the rookie class is just Clark, who he described as a “white b**ch”, leaving himself battling scandal afterwards. He did attempt to apologise to the Indiana Fever and the ace, which he claims was accepted.
“I did reach out to Caitlin Clark through the Fever, sent an apology and then got a message back that she said it was all good,” McAfee said Tuesday, June 4. “No blood. We move forward.
“And she appreciates us reaching out and apologizing. So that obviously makes me feel a little bit better. But to the people that got p**sed off yesterday and offended, I understand. I learned a lot.”
