Sides said she was personally disappointed to see Clark didn’t make the roster.

“Yea a little disappointed of course, she’s my player,” Sides said.

“That’s the hardest team in the world to make, right? That’s a tough team, she’s young, she’s going to have so many opportunities in the future.”

Sides shared that she sat down with Clark to chat about missing the team USA roster and how it can motivate her in the future.

“We talked about it on the bus, she got the call on the bus,” Sides said.

“She texted me to let me know and I just tried to keep her spirits up.

“The thing she said was ‘Hey coach they woke up a monster,’ which I thought was awesome.”

Clark personally opened up about not being selected for the Olympic roster and said it was now a challenge to work hard and make the next one.

“Honestly, no disappointment,” she said.

“I think it just gives you something to work for.
